Sean Palmer has been teaching our adult autistic son to play the drums for about three and a half years.

Our son enjoys music and has a sense of rhythm, but has a poor concentration span and is easily distracted.

Sean understood very quickly how our son’s mind works, how to motivate him and prevent him becoming distracted.

Sean has a positive engaging manner, makes the lessons fun, and gives lots of encouragement. He is happy to go along with the songs and music our son loves, and to use these as a tool for teaching. He has also covered all the music theory required, and has boosted our son’s confidence to improvise around the familiar music.

Dylan has been having guitar lessons with Sean for nearly 4 years now & absolutely loves them! Sean has a great way with kids, getting them to pay attention & learn the basics easily. His enthusiasm is infectious & Dylan is encouraged to practise outside of lessons too. We’ve recently had Skype lessons, which has meant Dylan can continue his lessons, despite the current guidelines and I’ve really seen an improvement in his playing lately. Sean has good Communicational skills, he understands the importance of the fundamental elements, he understands my capabilities and helps me improve on them, he is very patient, he helps me constantly learn and improve my skills on the Ukulele, but most of all he makes my lessons fun and funny but with a structure to his lessons. Sean is Kind and very good at teaching many different musical instruments, he has allowed me to try the Keyboard, Guitar, Drums and Ukulele. at the end of my lessons Sean always gives me tasks to work on in the week to help improve my skills on the Ukulele.
